According to the Federal Reserve, home décor, electronics, appliances, and furniture are all costlier than last year. You can expect to pay about 6.5 percent more for furniture at least 19 percent more for appliances, according to a report by Trade Partnership Worldwide for the National Retail Federation. That means a typically-$200 coffee maker could have an inflated sticker price that runs you at least $38 more. The Budget Lab at Yale University estimates that the current tariff policies will cost households about $1,800 on average in 2025.
