is it possible to replace old skeleton key door locks with new Quick Set locks

but it canbe expoensive. What you are refering to is mortise style locksets. once removed, the pocket mortised for them must bef filled with a slug of wood glued or epoxied in, and Epoxy type wood filler such as made by Minwax used then to make the door pocjket finish smooth and solid again, then the new lockerset can be installed as tho it were a new door.

But - IMO, Kwikset are amoung the cheapest brands you can find. Schlage is better , and Emtex would be fine - Baldwin finer

Why not use a new mortise lock. There are a few manufacturers that still make these and are used on high end homes. If you are looking for a more modern look the door knob styles are endless to meet the needs of the consumers. Slage and baldwin are but a few stay away from the imports I have heard some really bad horror stories. Kris
