Some time ago I had a repairman out to fix my dryer as it was no longer heating. Ever since that time the dryer is once again heating but the entire laundry room get humid and hot. I am assuming that something was done to the duct? Dont know if this is correct or not...what can I do to fix this problem?

Dryer vents frequently become clogged with lint. This should be cleaned out. If the vent is the flexible plastic, I suggest you replace it as those are cheap.
It's not only wasting energy, but can cause fires.

Sounds like it is venting into the room instead of outside. Check the connections. I've started to use the flexible aluminum duct instead of the plastic flex. I'm betting the lint build up will be less.
