I'd like to replace one brick on my fireplace hearth/platform/wall with a commemorative brick from the old Boston Garden. What would be the proper way to extract one brick? Thanks

one is to use ( rent it) a demo hammer to destroy the brick in place.

The other is to use an angle grinder to cut the mortar joint, but you would wanbt to do several things to keep a tremendous clpud of dust from spreading around the house and from filling your lungs

Excellence is its own reward!
