I'm also seeking information on building brick pillars to support 2 10' driveway gates. I live in Edmonton AB Can. where frost is for sure ( I think the frost line is now between 4 & 5ft) can any one give me some guiding on how to do these pillars? I plan on being at bicklaying stage in 2 wks. Please respond if you can be of any help?

Hi. Do you need to use real bricks / stone or you can use a metal pole as bearing support and dress it with faux stone panels? Check out toward the bottom of this blog:

You can easily find faux stone posts and pillars online. Some companies have really good shipping rates that are unmatched by others.
Make sure you look around!
