My first guess is that the dryer running causes enough vibration to make a bad connection barely touch. But more info is needed to even guess...
Do all lights, outlets, etc. in the kitchen fail to work or is it just one light fixture?
Are all the devices that fail on the same switch? Are all the failing devices on the same breaker (or fuse)?
Has any change been made lately, or is this old, existing circuitry that has recently started to fail?
Etc.
