I will be residing my house this summer. Last year I got some quote from different people and they all wanted extremely too much. One of the contractors did show me a styrofoam insulation that they use to go behind the siding. The thing about it was that it was shaped so the siding fit it perfectly. Does anyone one know where I can get this stuff?

You won't find much service help at HD

I buy from local lumberyards/building suppliers

The product I think you are talking about is called Fullback. It is a contoured drop in backer board. However, I am not aware of anyone who provides it for the retail market. As far as I know, it is only avail. through wholesale building supply companies.
You do need to be careful as this product needs to be make spicificly for the siding you are installing.
