I've got a 50 pint Delonghi (sp?) dehumidifier in my basement. I set it to the maximum level (min humidity), says 40% on the dial. But my well water pipe still sweats. I bought a cheap temp/humidity gauge and it says the humidity in the basement is 70%.

Are the dials on dehumidifiers that un-reliable or is my unit broken? It's got an 'always on' setting but I'm afraid that will cost a fortune.

Will pipe insulation help? What kind?

Any help, comments, advice or consoling?

Thanks in advance

Try 2 dehumidifiers. Regular foam pipe insulation will help with the pipes. C.
