Hi,

My 14 month old daughter burned her hands on our peachtree steel entry door due to a storm door insulating heat in the space. My question is does anyone know of anything that can be placed on the door to prevent burns?. FYI it became hot due to the morning sun.She is fine now.

The problem is easily solved by applying a reflective window tint to the glass on the storm door. Window tint film is easily applied and will reflect the rays that cause the door to heat up. The tint will reduce heat gain, and also gives the glass additional safety in the event of breakage. This should be easier than painting the door a light color, which would also work.

Thank you for your suggestion I am looking into the film. We did paint the door and have vented the storm door but it still gets hot.
