I'm about to plane just about every sticky door in my house using a power hand planer. Should I remove material from the doorknob side or the hinge side? I'm afraid if I remove the doorknob and it's hardware it will not fit properly after I remove material from that side. Removing material from the hinge side will require re-mounting the hinges.
Thanks in advance.

You need to plane where it's rubbing. There is a small amount of play at the knob hardware I wouldn't about that too much. Larry
