Hi there,

All of the bifold closet doors in my house don't stay closed, and after much investigation I have realized that they have all bowed (some quite badly (I'd say they're out at least 1/4" in the centre).

Is there anything I can do, other than replacing them to help remedy this.

I've replaced the hardware and realigned the settings to no avail. Would new Hinges help, or should I just bite the bullet and go for the new ones?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks!

you can try taking the doors off and laying them flat to see if they will bow back to being unbowed. If that works you need to be sure and seal all 6 sides (front, back, sides, and top & bottom) that will keep moisture off the door and will help prevent bowing. if these steps don't work a new door is the only recourse but be sure to follow the manufacturers recommendation on finishing and installing.

THANKS,

You can get the solution from bi-fold door fitters; you have to call them to redesign the doors. The fitter can resize the door properly to open and close the door properly. If it is not possible, you can buy new one. Recently there was the same problem in my dining room door. I called a fitter from prime-bi-fold-doors.co.uk to solve this problem.
