I'm looking to replace my upstairs windows. I have a bedroom in my house from 1922 that requires a casement egress window as well as a window that will allow for a window air conditioner (ie. double hung). My two bedroom windows are right next to each other. I would just like the opinions of some people on whether it would look odd to have a white vinyl casement window next to a white vinyl double-hung. If anyone has sample pictures of this type of configuration, let me know.

Windows currently meet the width and height of the required opening for the fire code, but the total square feet of opening space (must be 5 feet squared) is not met.

Thanks for your help.

Assuming the casement sash can be removed, get a good carpenter to install the AC and fabricate a wood or plexiglass panel to fill in over the unit.

Providing that the AC isn't too wide for the existing window, you have a solution. If this is a seasonal matter, make sure the panel above the AC is removable.
