I'm interested in purchasing a home that has been built on a concrete slab with no footing. What can be done to prevent issues from occurring with age and this type of foundation?

What year was the home built, there are home builder's using this method. It is called Post Tension. My home built in 2005 is built on a Post tension Foundation. It has cables running both directions and after the concrete is poured and cured for a short time the cables are tighten to a specific tension. My house is sitting on a floating foundation which it will never crack and there is no footing seams which everyone knows termites find their way into a home thru the seams.

Its probably not necessary, unless its sinking, but spiral foundation supports can be put in with brackets.

If it's old, and no problems, then don't worry.

If it's new, come back in 20 years and take a look.
