There is a persistent film on the inside of my car windshield that affects visibility, especially in bright sunlight. You can run your finger through it and it smears. It's like the film that can accumulate on the inside windshield if a person is a smoker, but there's never been any kind of smoking in the car, which is a 2013 Ford Escape.
I've tried all kinds of glass cleaners, special paper towels, even newsprint, and nothing is getting rid of it. Any suggestions? It used to get worse after going through a car wash but for the last few years I've told them not to do the inside windshield. Is there a product I can use, or do I need to take it to a detailer?
