I am redoing a bathroom and want to paint the existing wood medicine chest and vanity bottom white. (Never thought I would paint over nice wood, but I want to give it a fresh look).

Anyway, my question is.....What exactly do I have to do before I paint? Do I have to sand it lightly and then prime? OR can I just go ahead and prime and paint??

Thanks for any help!
