I have a 5 year old Kenmore washer that has developed a problem during the agitation cycle.
When doing a load of clothes, the agitation cycle stopped, there was a slight smell of burnt plastic.
I was able to run the spin cycle to empty out the water.
When I tried to run the machine again, it filled just fine, however, when the agitator started it ran for only about a minute, then stopped.
I took out the agitator and the spline is not stripped.
Any thoughts?
If you post the machine's complete model number so we can look up what design it is, someone may be able to make a suggestion.
You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

Will it still spin now?
