Installed desert bronze xlm in aug 2010. Replacing with harvest bronze April 2013. Sent two emails to warranty dept. never registered my material in the beginning . Sent about 10 pictures and invoice for material. Deck is about 20' x 16'. They replaced all material and fasteners. Plus 2k in a personal check. Installed myself and will replace myself. Hopefully I will never have to go through this again. But they did make right on the situation......for now.

I am new to this forum. We had installed in the summer of 2011 the TimberTech Mtn. Cedar and it too has started to have white milky areas. I've tried to clean it, but it does not work. Any help from people who were successful in cleaning theirs would be appreciated.

Don't waste your time with Harvest Bronze XLM. We originally had Desert Bronze installed in June of 2010. By August of 2010 it had white chalking over the entire deck. After TT tried to get us to use their deck stain and we refused they finally agreed to replace the desert dream with Harvest Bronze promising that the HB product was improved and we wouldn't have the same white chalking problem. In less that a year, we had the same exact issue with the Harvest Bronze. We are exhausted with the entire process and don't want to go through the pain of replacing it again. At this point I do not feel that TT can provide a decent replacement product. I spent all this time convincing my husband that it was worth it to spend the extra dollars on a "maintenance free" deck vs. cedar decking. $21K later and I wish we would have done cedar!

My XLM Desert Bronze decking is also turning white after 2 1/2 years. The deck gets minimal traffic and is maintained properly. I will be sending a claim in to Timbertech along with photos, honestly after reading all the posts about the decking, I'm very sorry that I bought this product even though it was the most expensive composite decking on the market at the time. Any help trying to rectify this situation would be greatly appreciated.

We installed TT xlm in Rustic Bark in July of last year (2012). It was beautiful for a couple months until I started to see what looked like a milky film. At first I thought maybe it was our water. This spring (2013) I noticed more of the milky look...and by July it now looks white like the color has worn off. Was going to try the DECK MAX...but decided not to after reading this website. Will be calling TT to start our claim!

We installed XLM Desert Bronze in 2010. It has the color defect. Our warranty claim just got approved for the material replacement and "customary amount towards the replacement labor". Sure could use some advice on how to approach this. What does 'customary' mean? I believe Timbertech needs to pay for all the labor. Any advice from folks that have already completed this process would be helpful and appreciated.

Also I would like any feedback on what Timbertech replacement product you chose, why, and results (happy or not happy with choice).

I recently submitted a claim to replace our Desert Bronze deck and am in the waiting stages. I requested Harvest Bronze but just noticed a post from HATEXLM on 5/30/13 that after replacing Desert Bronze with Harvest Bronze they are experiencing white discoloration problems AGAIN!
Has anyone else had problems with Harvest Bronze?

Also any good advice from 2013 how to push your claim through and get labor costs reimbursed? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a good deck replacement contractor in Chicago suburbs (Glen Ellyn).
