I started watching Bob Vila when This Old House first started on PBS. In those early years I believed that he was well acquainted with the products he featured, and that he probably was not unduly influenced by perks he might have been offered -- or received -- from manufacturers. So now, while searching for comparative information on available composite decking materials, I came to Bob's website for some expert guidance. Or at least that's what I hoped I would find. Instead, I find here an interminable argument between dozens of advocates and critics of this brand or that (including the various moderators), but little explanation as to the underlying cause of the reported problems, whether -- or when -- the problems have been corrected, or a side-by-side comparison by a credible espert, like Bob Vila to help consumers make a decision regarding a quite costly expenditure for decking materials. Bob, why won't you chime in and take a stand on issues posted on your website?
