New home needs bath fixtures. Have Moen Monticello style tub/shower valve assy in current house. Love styling & would like to use in new home but has low flow rate (2.5 gpm). Is this some gov't issued regulation, like water saving toilets, or are higher flow units available?

Low flow faucets are in the water conservation act and our plumbing and building codes. Usually for faucets this is achieved by a removable restrictor at the aerator or shower head. A good quality aerator or shower head provides the force most people relate to gallons per minute.
