forced air heat
I have elect. fored air heat. my ac does not keep the house cool in ther summer and i don't have to much heat in the winter. do i have the wrong vents open? for the summer i have the bottom vents open, for the winter i have the top vents open.
I believe if you have two seperate sets of vents, you should be doing the opposite. Hot air rises so therefore the lower (ground level) vents should be providing the heat.
If you have a consistant heating and cooling problem, you need to have your house evaluated by an experienced professional who can do a load calculation on your home to see what may be required in the way of air flow. Somebody other than whom originally installed the system. You may not have large enough equipment or it may be purely an air issue. Only an experienced professional with the proper equipment can give you an honest answer. Try to locate a contrator who is NEMI certified. Good luck.
