A few years ago I had inherited my childhood home which is quite old. The furnace is gas/water. There are baseboard registers in every room where you can open or close the vent for how much heat you want. Sometimes air gets trapped in the water and we have to use a special "key" inserted into an end to flush the registers. My problem is that the second story rooms get quite hot while the downstairs rooms remain lukewarm (the registers are all hot). I've weather proofed the rooms (windows, doors) and still have the same problem, even when the registers are closed upstairs. I don't remember this problem when I was a child and unfortunately my Grandpa is no longer living and he's the one who installed and maintained the registers. Is there a way to shut off the upstairs registers or any other option with these units? Please help! I've resorted to opening the windows at night in order to sleep and it's below 0 here!!! Thanks! Stephanie
