Hey Guys,

So I'm in the process of planning a kitchen renovation and I've currently been trying to decide what to do with the cabinets. I'm not too versed in cabinets so what's the way to go? Pre-Assembled or Non Assembled (or whatever the terminology is for the opposite)?

If I do go the route of Pre-Assembled cabinets I've been looking at two providers in my city, one is called Cabinet Solutions and the other is called Action Cabinets, what should I be looking for when deciding?

Thanks!

James

Depends on your budget, pre-assembled would be more expensive. Or you could design your own cabinets. They really are not difficult to make. I made cabinets about 5 years ago did the framing in 2 x 4's and covered the exterior with pine boards and then added several layers of poly to coat.

Actually you think poly would be difficult to clean but I never had problems with stains or food sticking to the surface. And doesn't scratch very easily either. You can really save a lot of money building them yourself and then you can add quirky, unique features like extending the boards of the end cabinet not connected to the wall and make a neat wavy line edging. Really nice looking. Good Luck with your cabinets.
