hi guys. im having some trouble. ok, i wanted to switch my outlets in my room to new ones. the other ones were old and yellow. so i switched the power off on the circit breaker for that room. but it also controls my son's room and my room. so neither of those rooms had power. anyways, i screwed off the outlet and pulled it out of the wall. i carefully took off the wires from the old outlets and put them in the new one. the two outlets were a little different, but nothing some common sense couldn't handle. so, everything was in order, so i put it back into the wall, and switched the circuit breaker back on. but there was no power in that outlet. but now, the problem was that none of the outlets work in my room and in my sons room. absolutely none of them work. the outlets did work before. so i took out the outlet again, after switching the breaker off, and rewired the outlet again. still no luck. nothing works. i did this 10 times, everytime trying all the possible combinations. where could i have gone wrong. please help. by the way, is it possible that maybe two of the copper parts in the wires were touching and it short circuited everything? thanks in advance.

Before giving any advice, I'd like to know how the old and new outlets were different. I have some ideas but but want to hear from you first. Its bad to assume anything, with electricity it is dangerous to assume things.

Another question: did the circuit breaker ever go off on its own or is it still on but no power?
