I am having my bedroom redone. I want to add/move the electrical outlets so that they are not covered by floor length curtains, because of the fact that this could be a fire hazard. I have thought about putting outlets in the floor. My mother is concerned that it will be too difficult to run the wires through the 2 x 4's in the floor and down to the electrical box in the basment. Also that they will have to cut through the basement ceiling to do this I have several questions:

#1 Does anyone know of a better idea for electrical oulet placement?

#2 Is this really that hard for a skilled electrician to do?

#3 Will the electrician have to cut through the basement ceiling to do this?

Anybody's help would be appreciated.

First I am not aware of any fire hazzard from curtains being in front of recepticles. They can be installed in the floor (if they are designed for the purpose). It is not an easy job, but a professional should be able to give you an idea of the cost before they do the job.
