When we bought our house, the old owner remodeled the kitchen. In doing so, he sprayed a pop corn ceiling but neglected to put in an exahust fan. The ceiling is now coated with grease and dust from the stove and ceiling fan. Is there a way to clean this ceiling without having to strip it and start over. What are the best products to use if it can be cleaned

Really it is best to remove it or put something like tin squares over it. If it hasn't been painted it is not hard to remove. After killing my hands, I found a gadget at Home Depot that is a long pole with a scrapper and bag for the scrapings ( there will be lots). Also get several plastic paint drop clothes to cover anything of value. Wet a portion
of the ceiling with a sprayer with water and scrape away. A week-end should do it!! Good luck.
