Our utility sink was used to clean up red paint brushes etc. It is now stained red. Can I paint this standard utility sink? Is there any product beyond bleach and cleaners that will remove the stains?

Is the sink porcelain, plastic, metal...?

What type of paint? House paint, automobile paint, artist paint....? Latex, enamel... ?

Give a little help.

I believe it is plastic. The paint is interior latex. The sink looks awful.

Hi! I found out by accident that commercial restaurant degreaser (sodium hydroxide, I think it is also known as caustic soda) does a terrific job on enameled steel sinks. I had one that was stained with latex and oil paint, and when I put the oven grills to soak in the tub, it came back as good as new, and so did the oven grills. I don't know if it will work on plastic sinks though. Maybe it is too strong. Hope this helps!
