Fastfloors gives Stepco laminate floors a 4.9 out of 5 rating - Excellent. They have a 25 year "Laminate Loc" for 1.69 sq ft. Has anyone heard/used this product. I know that Fastfloors is the sole authorized dealer so I take the rating with a grain of salt. Comments appreciated.

buying online can bring the price down because they have lower overhead. but 1.69 still needs to be explained.

the first concern is milling. if the product goes together great, then the first test is passed. the other concern cannot be determined untill a couple years of living on it.

for instance, a customer told me they were not going with my laminate because they found another manufacturer that was a buck less than me. well I explained it was because mine was high pressure and had excellent milling.

but I also told them that I know nothing of the manufacturer they were buying from so I could not compare.

they took the risk and purchased the economy lam.

they called a month later and said it went together relatively well and it was holding up great!!!!!!!!!!!

I congratulated them and told them to keep me in mind when they needed flooring next.

Well they called a year later, and the story was alot different. After a year of living on it, it was starting to have gapping seams, and major scratches, and even 2 dents from canned foods.

my laminate was alot more stable and certainly more dent resistant. And more scratch resistant.

Does that mean that if they bought my lam, there would have been no problems? no.

maybe they installed incorrectly, or maybe they abused their floor. But they would have had a better chance if they would have spent more money on a higher end product.

to make a long story short. the ONLY way to make sure you are getting the quality you need, is to get as educated as a salesperson on lam floor, and find out if the quality of lam is up to your household traffic.

you don't want to pay another $2.50 down the road for a better quality.

that is not much of a money saver.

I did a lot of research online and offline regarding different laminate floors. I found that a lot of floors were similar, some were good quality and some were better. The Stepco was in the better category and I ended up buying over 1,000 square feet of it. I have installed laminate flooring before. This material went in smooth and the look and feel was excellent. I think this is a great value for the price. I also found it on As an added note I bought it three weeks ago and also got a $5.00 per box rebate.

Now that you have had several months with the Stepco flooring, has it performed well? I am interested in this brand but I cannot seem to find any long term opinions on the product.

I recent purchased Stepco laminate flooring. I bought the revolution series with the crystal tuff finish. The quality was really good for what I paid. I used the whisperstep underlayment and the floor is also very quiet. I did this is 4 rooms of our house on the ground floor. I will be buying more for the second floor this summer. Great value!

Stepco Laminate Floorings are best. Without a doubt do use it when you build a new home. I am using it for more than 4 years and it still works fine without a single complaint.
