We will be moving into a 20 year old home next month. The home has double pane windows, but has moisture build-up bewteen the panes. Would it be better to replace the windows or put storm windows in? Also what is retro fit mean when talking about replacements.

Hi dawg_dude_65,

Double-pane windows w/moisture in them means the seals are 'busted'. You'll need new windows (forget about storm windows.)

Retro-fit probably means the windows can be fit w/a window that doesn't need to be roughed-out anew. In other words, same size windows can be put in there w/whatever the existing rough-out is.

Ask whoever it is you're talking to what retro-fit means. They could be talking a different animal (like a 60's style window. YOu know, retro??!)

My best to ya and hope this helps.
