I have a what I call a campaign chest with brass handles and brass "Ls" at the corners and "crosses" on the wood between the three sets of two drawers each.
Question: I can remove the handles because they are screwed in and have them replated or whatever. How can I refinish the other brass hardware which cannot be removed? It is discolored, may not be solid, etc. as a last resort can I paint it with a very small brush and if so with what type of paint, suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks. Pat

Welcome Emily,
You might try posting this to the Paint Forum--more people might see it over there.
I have had some VERY LIMITED experience with brass. I polished some up (using either a brash polish or a Dremel Moto-tool, depending on what & where). I used a lacquer to keep the shine. It worked for a while but I'd say it's no great shakes.
And all that was some time ago--I am hoping that there are better things available nowadays. And your application sounds a bit tricky--being around wood and all. So please try the good folks over in the Paint forum.
