We have had same problem. Live in Colorado on the 'High Plains and it's windy almost every day. The other days it's really blowing Hard! Found that the wind was coming in under the siding and into basement and walls. Caulked the lower edge of siding and stopped a lot but found I also needed to foam the wall outlets. Foaming Just around the edges won't get it since cold air will also leaks into the outlet box around the electric wires. Recommend cutting away just a little wallboard around the outlet boxes and then use the foam with the long nozzel to squirt back in behind the boxes. A pain but finally worked for us. Those foam pads for outlet boxes will stop any air around the edges, if needed. Good Luck

Thanks for replying. We did get some expanding foam and did start insulating outside wall plugs and switch boxes.

It has helped some, but as you found, insulating along edge of siding will probably help too.

My husband thinks air coming down from the attic through walls and escaping via wall plugs may be the problem.

This is our first siding house and we probably should have insulated after electricians put in boxes. But we had no idea we would have a problem.
