We're building a 22x25 addition and was wonder the approximate cost for the foundation and footers. Including digging the ground, etc. We are reusing the brick we currently have so the only cost would be for the blocks. Would $3000 seem to high or low?

At least a dozen variables to that answer, including depth, location, local labor force, local economic conditions....

I couldn't get the hole dug for three grand

'IF' this addition is going to be built abut/next to existing basement wall then, 'NOW' is the time to correctly Waterproof `n backfill the existing wall.

Seen too many assume that building an addition/porch etc is somehow going to keep all water away from an existing crack(s) in basement wall OR, the use of HEAVY EQUIPMENT next to existing wall 'could' create a crack in bsmt wall,YES...it is Possible.
