i have a small hole, looks like a nail puncture, in a copper pipe to my washing machine approximately 1/2 inch above foundation. it is really a small hole and not much pressure of the water shooting out, the water shoots out about an inch. would soldering up the hole be a satisfactory fix? it would be difficult to cut this piece out considering how close it is to the foundation.

Yes, it can be done to solve your problem but you will have to shut off the water and drain the pipe first. Can not solder well if water is in the pipe. Leave extra solder on the area and be sure to clean the area well first and use good flux.
PS: Be sure to protect the wood close by to prevent fire.
