Building a new home by Waterford, $500K plus, in Georgia. The lot we have chosen will work great for a full back day light basement. Although I am told by the builder that a Sewage Ejector Pump system will need to be installed for the Basement Full Bath? Looking for a recommendation, Ejector Pump mounted inside or outside? or Ejector Pump vers. outdoor underground septic system? What is recommended? Most reliable? and who makes very good Ejector Pump Systems?

Thanks

Ben

If at all possible, install a gravity flow system. My pump recommendation is Littlegiant www.littlegiantpump.com Install the pump indoors. It is more serviceable this way. C.

While cellarwater has good insight on problems, I'm going to recommend a Zoeller cast iron unit. The plumbing supply houses in my area do sell a lot of little giant systems to plumbers but I feel Zoeller's are more trouble free. You should be able to go at least a decade without problems.

I would prefer the ejector system instead of a septic. I am not familiar with the outside pump systems and did not know they were available. Considering the value of your new home you may also want to consider a two pump system like we have on commercial jobs.

Zoeller pumps are a lower quality in my opinion. I usually find {espescially in sewage ejection} the floats get weighted down with the accumulation of stuff that collects on the float, switches fail. And shaft seals leak prematurely. If you do decide on the Zoeller. Get a piggy back switch with a pump panel. Same for the Little Giant. Check out www.sjrhombus.com. These switches are unkillable.
