I was hoping someone could clarify something for me. I want to install a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub in a 2-wall corner. It will be a drop-in install. The drain will be in the center of the tub and I can place the faucet anywhere. My question is, what are the codes with regard to faucet/drain placement? Can I put the faucet on the back side of the tub, or does it need to be reachable from the front? Same with the drain/drain lever, can it be on the back side of the tub as opposed to the front? The tub I am installing is a Jacuzzi Mito 5. Ideally I'd like to have the pump on the left, drain in the center/back and faucet mounted on the deck behind the tub. Thanks for any help.

I would never suggest putting the faucet and drain to the back corner of a whirlpool. I always install them towards the front of the tub, so they can be filled without having to climb into them. Having to climb across a whirlpool to turn it on, is unsafe. It also means people, who are not going to use the tub, but clean it or turn it on for someone else, have to climb in it to turn it on. The best placement is to one side of the exposed front or a wall that is reachable without having to stretch across the tub. Although there are no codes, most inspectors will want them on the front for safety. Resale value is also a consideration, nothing that is out of the norm on inconvenient for the purchaser.
