i have a gas water heater and after about a week of not being used the hot water pressure is very low. cold water works fine. all the sinks in the house have the same problem. the water heater was installed a little less that a year ago. How do i find out what is wrong?

On the hot water tank there is a drain valve and a T&P.

Read the manufacturers directions on how they suggest you test the T&P (be careful as the water is hot)

Try checking the water pressure at the tank and then trace the lines to make sure no valves are partially closed.

Open the drain valve as dirctions state and flush out possible sediment

I too have had the same problem recently. I have plenty of pressure from the street(110 lbs) and cold water is great but when i switch to hot water its a trickle, my wife is going nuts (and me) because she can't take her 20 minute hot water shower without any pressure... I have drained the hot water and let it refill. There was no sediment and my gas hot water heater is made 1994. I am thinking about a tankless but don't want to pay $900 just yet...
