Bvelectrical
in a house I recently purchased, I am having some interference problems when I try to sign on to the internet (phone connection) and my recessed lights are on and dimmed halfway. You can hear the static on the phone modem and you can hear the high pitched noise off the lights!!!! What gives and how do I fix????

There was a post on this a while back. I tried some searches and couldn't find it.

I seem to recall one post that referred to a URL that discussed the ins and outs of phone wiring. Things like recommended distances between phone and electrical cables. I know in my house, there's a place where the telephone cable wraps several times around some electrical cables!

Sorry I can't be more help here, but do try some searches, both internet and here, and hopefully you'll find. And if you do, please post for us! (One of these days, I'll work on mine!)

I'ld get the various wires as far apart as you can. Along with that, I'ld use Cat5 or Cat5e wire for the phone drop you use for the computer. It's shielded to reduce noise that gets in and out.

Good luck
