I am installing an 200 Amp underground into my house (New construction).

Code calls for cable to buried in SCH40 Conduit at a depth of 30".

Is it ok to put the phone and cable in the same ditch with the electric? I bought conduit to run the telephone and cable through.

I was thinking of putting the electrical conduit in, filling in the ditch up to 12" deep, then put the cable/phone conduit in.

Please let me know your thoughts.

The best I can say is, you can probably do this. It is up to your electric company, sometimes they get real touchy about what is in the same trench. Usually, a 12" separation keeps them happy, but you never know so it is best to ask.
