HI' I WANT TO FINISH MY BASEMANT. BUT WATER COME IN AFTER A HARD RAIN. THERE IS A DRAIN IN THE FLOOR. I HAVE HAD IT CHECK AND IT WAS NOT STOP UP.I HAVE BEN TOLD THAT A SUMP PUMP AS TO BE PUT IN FOR THE BATH ROOM.WHEN IT RAIN I SEE THE WATER FROM THE DRAIN TO THE ROOM WHAT CAN I DO TO STOP THIS.

The only way to really have a dry basement is to stop the water before it enters the house. There are several different ways to do this depending on your situation.

Who gave you the advice about the sump pump in your post? One option you have is to let the water continue to enter, but control it once its in the basement.

BTW - I wouldn't finish the basement until the water problem is resolved.
