We have a long walk-way in the front of the house and on both sides we have rose bushes --none are climbers. We had climbers on our trellis but they all died. Anyway, the rose bushes are fairly high and they are starting to bend in towards the walk way, so much that you have to duck in order to go up the path. I had a thought that I would be able to set up a trellis-like structure in wire from one side of the walk way to the other and basically train the stalks that are bending to go around the trellis and form a pergola-type structure up the walk way. Given that these roses are NOT climbers, is it possible to do this? As I was looking at them bending in, I thought that something like that would look really pretty.

Please advise!!!
