I have a leak in the basement wall where the copper water supply pipe passes through the wall. The pipe is not leaking, but ground water leaks in during every hard rain. On the outside there is a concrete porch over top of the pipe so there is no access from the outside. Can someone suggest a way that I might fix this myself for good and from the inside of the basement?

When a legitimate plumber installs a pipe though a foundation wall gas, water or waste the pipe should be sleeved one commercial size larger then the line making the penetration.

The annular space is then sealed with a compound or molten poured lead and oakum to prevent vermin or water infiltration

Normally a plumber would explain how it is not the greatest idea of having a pipe come into contact with cement (unless protected) and from bearing any structural weight..

You may want to consider installing a drain on the outside of the home as the more water that enters though the pipe opening the worse it will get.

Remember the grand canyon started as a trickle
