We are trying to replace bifold closet doors. The width of the entire closet is 7 feet. The only bifold doors we can find are made for 6 or 8 foot closet doors. Any ideas on how we can solve this issue other than getting custom made doors or combining doors of different sizes?

The only remaining option I see is to "build out" the 2 sides of the opening by 6 inches each, thereby making the opening 6 feet.

I was thinking the same thing but the quality doors can be haaad in custom sizes for only about $75 more per pair.
Another option is to convert to sliding doors.
A third option would be to buy one pair of doors for a three foot openning and another for a four foot opennnig and recombine then at the center hinge so the four footers are in the center of the openning but then it wouldn't open all the way without redrilling the center guide sockets. You could also google for the johnson door hardware (they also make pocket door hardware)site. They have another unique hardware setup for bifolds that might work wioth this setup.

Personally, I'd go with custom sizing. You'll,have to prepay rpobably.
