Faux wood garage doors
I recently bought a house with a four year old wooden garage door that is falling apart. It looks like the former owner failed to provide proper care of the wood door. The wood stain coating is in bad shape and wood rotten on the bottom. I have asked for quotes to repair it but all the door installers told me it's near impossible to get a good wood grain match. Plus it is very expensive. I have google for options and came across Clopay Canyon Ridge faux wood garage door (http://www.clopaydoor.com/canyonridge ). Ranch House Doors also offers similar faux wood garage doors ( http://www.faux-wood-garage-doors.com ). My question is whether anyone has experience with faux wood garage door and how do they hold up to real wood doors. Are they realistic looking? Thanks.
The Clopay Canyon Ridge and Ranch House Door elements Collection faux wood garage doors will hold up very well compared to real wood garage doors. This is because the faux wood cladding is not made of real wood. Both Clopay and Ranch House Doors faux wood are made of polymer composite material that are very durable and designed to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) as well as very humid climates. It will not rot, crack, shrink or warp over time. As a result, the faux wood requires less upkeep compared to real wood.
