So I renovated my closet and painted using Behr Interior Paint & Primer Matte Paint. This was four days ago. Ever since my closer and adjacent bedroom smells like pickles. And this is a very strong smell.

I have renovated 3 other closets using the same materials however a different line of paint within the Behr product lines. I am thinking bad paint????

Please help with any experiences or remedies. I am ready to demo the entire custom closet....

I like pickles but I certainly wouldn't want my house smelling like them.
Here are a few things to try.
Mix vanilla with water and place in room.
Cut up a few onions and place in various areas of the room.
I usually use both.
Hope this helps
Good luck

Let me post a reply here to help anybody out that has this problem.
I used Behr paint over 3 months ago over new drywall after a soundproofing project...I think the primer was not dry enough...the wall ended up with a nasty pickles-like sour smell months after painting, we started getting headaches, it was terrible! I tried everything to cover it up, 3 different sealer//primers, BIN shellac based primer...smell always came back after a couple days. Then I figured it out! Liquid Rubber Polyurethane waterproof deck sealer! This is what you need! It worked like magic, stuff takes like 48 hours to cure, but when it does it's like concrete, seals anything behind it off like a wall. Sealed off the nasty sour smell off completely...stuff is a bit rough on finishing, needed a good sanding after 2 coats before the painting, but it worked amazing. Just wanted to put this out there for others with this problem so you don't have to tear down your walls.
