I am doing a garage remodel into a sewing room that COULD, if needed, become a master with bath. During this I will have a zonal heating system installed in the house. I would also like to have a whole house fan installed. I live in Oregon. We get a few despicably hot days here in the summer. I am not a fan of air conditioning so it would have extremely limited use in the zonal heating system. Our evenings and late afternoons can be cooler outside than the temp of the interior of the house. I grew up in the midwest where whole house fans seemed to have been a standard or norm.
1. Am I being redundant in my use of a whole house fan with a zonal heating system?
2. The attic has two very large vents on north and south end, gables, of this simple rectangular 1400 sq. ft. ranch. Would there need to be any additional venting?

Thanks so much. I can't seem anyone in our town who knows the answers to these questions. They are not very familiar with whole house fans.
