We recently had power go out to several receptacles and light fixtures in our 3-story house. A new space heater had been plugged in a receptacle in the basement. After about 1.5 to 2 hours, several lights in the basement went out, and the heater no longer had power. There were no breakers that had been tripped.

It appears that several receptacles throughout the house no longer have power, even in the master bathroom located 2 floors above. Very Weird.

There is a poor connection probably at one of the receptacles in that circuit. I see this all the time with back wired outlets. And there's no shortcut in finding which one it is. Trial and error. Be careful. If you know what breaker it was then that would help to turn it off then open every outlet in that circuit starting with the closest one to the breaker and work your way up.
