Hello, I restored a colonial home in the Dominican Republic where power outages are far too common. Recently half the power in the house has been going out. Today it occured again and according to my wife (I am traveling on business in the USA) the electric company replaced a burnt neutral wire entering the homes outside meter. Now my wife says lights are flickering occasionly. What would cause this? Could a surge from the transformer on the outside light pole be causing an arc and burning the wire. What remedt should I seek from the power company? I am recently lost a TV due to surges and fear for our appliances and worse a fire. Please help!!! Thank you
