I'm a handyman in Sacramento. clients own a 100+ year old Victorian in Midtown. House has had a fire and rewired in later 80s. here is the deal.... they had power go out in a bedroom . 5 outlets and one smoke detector lost power . I checked all circuit breakers ( not labeled ) none were tripped. all are ok allowing power through. I checked every GFI in the house, I also checked wiring to all effected outlets which were fine. but was unable to find the problem. The owners hired an electrician who also could not find the problem so he ran power from an adjacent room and tied it into the dead circuit giving it power.
My question is: Is that repair safe? Is that the way the repair should have been made? I mean should not the cause be identified? JustJaysemail@gmail.com
