We hired painters to paint our foyer and upstairs hallway about 6 months ago. Just last week we started noticing a strong smell of what I would describe as burning plastic or burning paint in the foyer only when the mid-afternoon sun is beating in the foyer window. Upon further investigation I noticed the painters had used "Pittsburgh Paints Manor Hall Exterior Paint and Primer in One" on the trim and doors. I'm thinking that when the sunlight beats down on the foyer window which has this paint all around it that's where the smell comes from. Once the sun sets the smell dissipates. What should I do? I'm going to have blinds put up in that window but I also worry about if this paint is toxic to my family. Should I try AFM Safecoat on the paint around the window?
