I’m looking at purchasing a house that smells of cigarette smoke from years of smoking. Any sure fire ideas or should I pass?

I bought a house belonging to smokers. I threw out the window coverings, Had the carpets steam cleaned, scrubbed the kitchen shelving and cabinets. New contact paper on shelves, Murphy's oil soap on cabinets. Painted the entire inside. It was shocking to see how yellowed every wall and ceiling had become. That did the trick. No vent cleaning or furnace work was required. I personally don't like deodorizer s. They're rather a masking tool, don't have think? Everything was so fresh and just the way I wanted it. There was never a hint of tobacco after that.
