I have just removed old wallpaper with a fabric backing. There are a million wallpaper tacks in the beadboard walls that are behind the wallpaper. Any good advice on removing them?

What are wallpaper tacks? All wallpaper I have seen is glued up.

They are simply tiny little tacks that were used about 100 years ago to hang wallpaper. This house is 105 years old.

So do you have any suggestion as to a good way to remove them?

Hi,
The only way I have found is to pull them, I use a thin stiff
scraper and hammer underneath an edge & work them out, time consuming & labor intensive, only doing it so I can paint one accent wall alongside the staircase. Good luck & best wishes.
